Simply Seasoned Green Beans
Green beans cooked to perfection simply prepared with Olive oil, salt and pepper

Ingredients
- 1 Pound Fresh Green beans ends trimmed off
- 3-4 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive oil
- To Taste Salt & pepper and/or garlic salt
Instructions
- On the stove top, bring a pot of water up to a boil. Meanwhile prepare the green beans by cutting either end off.
- Boil the green beans for about 8-10 minutes depending how “al dente” or crunchy you like them. Test one and add 2-3 more minutes if needed.
- Immediately strain the green beans in a colander and flush with cold tap water, tossing the green beans so they cool down.
- This is called “shocking” the green beans and help the green beans to stay a nice bright green color. If you’re not concerned with the color you could skip rinsing them.
- Place green beans in a bowl and season with a little salt, pepper, and olive oil. Toss until they are coated.
- Taste a green bean and add more seasoning if needed.
- Enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to a week.
Notes
Suggestions:
- To reheat them, sautee on medium heat on the stove top for a couple of minutes tossing gently until heated through.
- Try using a different oil to dress them like almond, walnut or hazelnut oil.
Asian-style Green beans

- ¼ Cup Soy sauce or Gluten-free Tamari
- 1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
- ¼ Cup Honey or brown sugar
- 1-2 tsp. Sriracha or Garlic Chili Sauce (optional)
- To Taste Salt & pepper
- To Taste Sesame seeds or Everything Bagel Seasoning mix (optional)

- Add the green beans to the pan and toss to coat.
- Plate it up and top with sesame seeds. Taste a green bean and add more seasoning if needed.
- Enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to a week.

Mediterranean-style Green Beans

Ingredients
- 1 Pound Fresh Green beans ends trimmed off
- 2-3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive oil
- ½ Each Onion small diced
- 2-3 Each Garlic cloves minced
- 1 Tbsp. Dried Oregano or Italian herbs
- 1-15 ounce can Fire roasted tomatoes or Tomato sauce
- To Taste Salt & pepper
Instructions
- On the stove top, heat a medium-sized saute pan on medium heat and add oil.
- Saute the onions lightly until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute another 2 minutes being careful not to burn it.
- Add the green beans, tomato, oregano, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup of water to the pan and give it a good toss.
- Bring it up to a boil, then turn down to a simmer and add a lid on top. Cook for about 18-20 minutes.
- Carefully test a green bean to see if desired doneness is reached. If they are still too crunchy, continue to cook for another few minutes until desired doneness is reached.
- Taste a green bean and add more seasoning if needed.
- Enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to a week.
