Going Vegan

Have you ever thought of trying a vegan plant based diet? You’re not alone!  More people are eliminating meat and dairy from their diet in search of a healthier lifestyle. The question is whether it’s truly healthier and if it will have a positive impact on lifestyle.

One of our recent clients came to us after watching some food documentaries on Netflix. He was so motivated that he wanted to start a vegan diet immediately. If it ended up working out for him, then he was determined to have his entire family switch to a vegan diet as well.

How to Start

How does one approach testing out a vegan diet? Luckily for him he was recommended by a friend to hire a personal chef that could help him make the transition. That’s when we got the call from him.

He did warn us that he was a meat and potatoes kinda guy and that we would have our work cut out for us. Fortunately for him we we’re able to set up his meal plans with tasty comfort vegan dishes so that he didn’t miss meat and dairy. Although for most it tends to be much more difficult going cold turkey.

Transitioning

For a smooth transition we suggest starting out with a vegetarian meal plan first before eliminating animal products completely. This gives your body, taste buds and mind time to transition for longer term results. When clients start realizing how many tasty meatless and dairy-free alternatives there are clients rarely feel that they’re missing out.

This client in particular lost a lot of weight, had more energy and improved his overall health. While many of our clients have had success in transitioning to a plant-based diet it’s not necessarily for everyone, but you’ll never know until you give it a try!
